New Updates for the Past Year...

Since I haven't blogged in quite some time, I will update everyone on where our family is right now.

In the past year Tim has finished Paramedic school and is now a full fledged Paramedic/Firefighter/Engineer. He loves what he does and I love his work schedule since he is home quite a bit. He is planning on going back to school soon (hopefully not at the same time as me) to get his Bachelors. I hope he stops there, but he has mentioned that his goal is to eventually get his Masters. YIKES!!!

He has been the best dad our kids could ever ask for and he surprises me everyday with how much energy he has to play with Connor. He can't wait until the boys are a bit older so he can take them hunting, fishing, camping, and play different sports with them. He recently told me that once they are old enough, I am never going to see them anymore because they will be out and about with their dad. I hope that is the case because I would LOVE some me time. Yay I have spa days in the future to look forward to! ;)

In the past year I have had three different jobs (with the same company) and the most recent one I will start when I go back from maternity leave. I feel like I have hopped from job to job but I am quite certain I will be in this department for quite some time because I can't go any higher without a Bachelors degree.

I start back in school in August this year and I am going back for my BS in Informatics IT. I figured a computer degree is a good degree to get these days. I can't wait until it's all over since I am not one who enjoys school.

One thing I am really happy about is that I recently underwent a little surgery to fix my ears. I have been so self-conscious about them my whole life and now I don't have to worry about it anymore! They turned out looking better than I ever imagined. :)

In the past year Connor has started going to preschool and will start Pre-K at our local elementary school in August this year. I can't believe how old he is. Time flew by too fast.

Since I have been off work on maternity leave, I have really tried to increase his knowledge about different things. He has now mastered the recognition of letters and the sounds that they make. He is working on putting words together such as "man" "mom" and "bug". We have also taught him a few Spanish words; mainly colors and numbers 1-20. That's pretty much the only Spanish I know, so we are most likely stopping there. Haha.

Connor now attends swim school every Saturday morning and recently started floating on his back all by himself. After swim class last Saturday my sister and I went to our Grandma's house to swim with Connor. I felt so old when he told me "I don't need your help anymore, I can do it all by myself." I was so tempted to quit taking him to swim just so he would still need my help. I'm not old enough for my kids to not need me anymore. :( But I guess that's life and I should be proud that my son is learning to do things on his own.

As for our family, we moved into my parents old home since they downsized to a one-story. It has been such a blessing to us. I don't know how we would have had two kids in the home we used to be in. We would have gone CRAZY!!! I just hope we don't have to down size when we go to buy another house because I have gotten very used to this square footage. :)

Nothing else is new other than that. Better stop blogging so I can eat some lunch before Tyler has to eat.

Welcome Tyler Jett!!

Ok, ok, I know. I haven't updated this blog in a year! A lot has happened in the past year for our family....but the most important thing that has happened is the birth of our second child Tyler Jett. He was born on June 18, 2011 at 1:51pm. He weighed in at a whopping 8 pounds and he was 20 inches long. Labor was extremely easy and lasted just under 4 hours. Here are a few pictures that I have taken over the past 3 weeks.

Tyler's Room....which actually used to be my room growing up. :)

Life has been really fun the past few weeks while I have been off work. I have been able to spend time with Tim, Connor, and now Tyler. Tyler sleeps ALL the time and he is such a good baby. He only cries when he is hungry....and I don't even know if I can really call it a cry since it's more like a whimper. I have been so blessed with really easy kids. Which is a good reason to stop while I'm ahead ;)

We are planning on taking a quick family vacation to Cali before I have to go back to work. I can't wait!

I will definitely try to update our blog at least once every other month, but I can't make any guarantees. :)

Connor is Officially 3!

Happy 3rd Birthday to Connor. Where does the time go?!? This year was especially fun, because he KNEW it was his birthday. He ran into our room (at 5) in the morning and I said, "Happy Birthday Connor!" And he automatically said, "Now I can open my presents?" :)

We went to Krispy Kreme and got a dozen free donuts for breakfast. Connor had fun watching the donuts go from dough to the finished product. "More again, more again!"
Then we headed off to Santan Mall to play in the playground until the mall opened. He met a little boy there and they played nonstop until a little 1 year old girl came around. Then they decided to both "share" her while they played. Connor would hold her hand and the other boy brought her flowers. Haha. Tim wanted to go up to the dad and apologize to him for having a girl.

After the playground, we went into the Disney store where Connor picked out a present. And to no surprise, he picked out a large Woody that had a real pull string. Move over Lightning McQueen, there's a new Sheriff in town.

We finally made it over to the movie theater to watch Toy Story 3 again. I have to say, Toy Story 3 is my favorite out of all the Toy Story movies. Connor was good for the majority of the movie and he enjoyed his free medium sized popcorn.

I would have to say the highlight of his day was when his Uncle Paul came over. Tim's brother went above and beyond for Connor's 3rd birthday! He came through the door not only holding a helmet and knee pads, but a brand new Lightning McQueen bike with training wheels! What a spoiled kid. Thanks Paul for making his birthday really special.

Then after Connor saw his new bike, we sang Happy Birthday to him and he got to blow out his candles.

Then we finished up the night by going to Joe's Farm Grill for dinner, which is the best place ever! My parents met us there and gave Connor his birthday present, Ratatouille. He absolutely LOVES this movie and it is definitely going to come in handy.

We love our little guy so much. Happy Birthday Connor!

Disneyland!

Connor finally had his first trip to Disneyland. He was so anxious to go, and since we only have him right now, we decided it was the perfect time to go. We left on Thursday morning when Tim came home from work.

I was adimant on Connor wearing big boy underwear the entire way to California.....even though that meant stopping in the middle of nowhere to go pee in a random bush. He was loving it since he is definitely a boy. :) He made it the entire way to California without a single accident. That's my boy!!

We pulled up to the hotel about a mile from Disneyland and I went to go check us in. I come back outside and I see Connor with this HUGE smile on his face. Tim then tells me that Connor had to go to the bathroom so he poured out a soda cup and let him pee in that. (I'm scared to see what he pees in now that we are at home.)

My parents let us borrow a tiny suitcase with wheels on it for Connor which he absolutely adored the entire trip. Here are pictures of him dragging it along.

We had a wonderful view of Disneyland from our hotel room....just in case we had to head back before the fireworks. :) That night, we knew that we had to get good rest because the next day was Disneyland Day!

We woke up bright and early on Friday morning to get ready for the day and then we headed off on the shuttle to Disneyland.

We got there right when it opened so it was pretty empty. Connor's face was priceless when we first walked in the gates.

We got right on to Snow White's ride and Pinnochio's ride. At this point Connor had cried at both of them. I thought it was going to be a disaster!

But then we found the merry-go-round and......the TEA CUPS! Tim spun us faster than I ever thought those things could go and Connor was laughing the entire time. He kept saying, "More again Daddy! More again!" PS - He chose the color of the tea cup. He said it was Bailee's favorite color. (Bailee is his friend.)

Then we headed over to Tomorrowland to go for a drive at Autopia. We were waiting in line and Connor said, "I have to go potty." I figured this would happen since I had him in underwear. But little did I know that he was sick. We finished up driving around and then we took him to the bathroom. Thats when we encountered DIAHERREA! Not the first thing I planned on for a wonderful picture perfect Disneyland trip. I had only brought two diapers to the park not knowing this was going to happen.

We went and got in line for the Finding Nemo submarine ride and while we were waiting in line, he had another bathroom incident. Thank goodness for diapers! There was no way I was getting out of that line. He had been waiting to see Nemo this whole time. So, I apologize to the people that were sitting next to us in the little submarine. :)

We ended up having to go back to the hotel, clean Connor up and give him some Tylenol. Thank you Tim for thinking of bringing medicine! Connor fell asleep and Tim went and picked up diapers at the closest Target and picked up lunch for us.

Connor slept for about two hours....even though the hotel was testing their fire alarm system the entire time. When he woke up, he was feeling a lot better so we headed back to Disneyland with a backpack full of diapers and wipes and a smile on our faces. Tim kept my spirits up the entire time even though I felt like the trip was a total disaster.
Dumbo was the next ride that we went on. He had a blast controlling the elephant going up and down.

Connor got to meet Mickey Mouse....

And Goofy....

Funny story about the Goofy picture. Goofy put Connor up on his leg to take a picture and Connor immediately jumped off and started crying. He turned to Goofy and said, "I can't. I pooed on your leg!" Haha. And that is why Goofy has that face. :)

He had so much fun in Mickey's Toon Town...

We stayed late that night to watch the fireworks. Tinkerbell came flying out of the top of the Matterhorn which was really exciting. The fireworks were amazing and lasted a long time. The last ride that we went on was Peter Pan's ride. We ended up finishing everything in the park that we wanted to do. We changed about 12 diapers throughout the day, but looking back now it was well worth it.

That night Connor was begging to get into bed.....shoes and all. :) I wish he was always like that.

Just when I thought the diapers were the worst part of the trip, I woke up that night throwing up just about everything in my stomach. I know....gross! Tim was beyond nauseous just having to deal with us. Poor Tim. :(

The next day we checked out of our hotel and headed off to Seal Beach. It was the closest beach I could find to Anaheim. We ate breakfast there overlooking the ocean. We took a walk down the pier and relaxed on the beach for a while. No swimsuits because it was cold and windy.

This trip was beyond what I expected, but I couldn't have asked for a better vacation. Now we have these memories with Connor that we will be able to talk about for the rest of our lives.
We are definitely ready for the next vacation!
